I love the bus

Greetings from beautiful Rockville, MD!  We made it this far.  Surprisingly, the bus trip didn't give me a whole lot of material.  I was certain that with 22 hours in a bus with 25 kids and 12 adults, plus two drivers that we didn't know, I'd have plenty of things to talk about.  But, honestly, it was pretty uneventful!  In the grand scheme of trips, I call that a win!

Some things though, the sleeping was a little sketchy.  We stopped in WI and have everyone get out and stretch and come back ready to sleep.  The kids were amazing.  They went right to bed!  They went to bed in the seats, on the floor, under the seats... it was incredible.  I kept thinking, how can that be comfortable.... sleeping on the floor of a bus?  Then I tried to sleep.

Don't get me wrong, the bus is amazing.  It's brand new, it has Wi-Fi, a DVD with surround sound and 8 wide screen monitors, a wireless mic so that I can talk to (or AT, depending on your view) everyone... the bathroom is suprisingly -- alright.  The windows are huge, the storage is more than adequate.  But, when you're an adult, sleeping in what is essentially an airline seat... not so much.  It was a challenge.  By the time it was 3 AM, even I was considering a turn on the floor.  But there was no room!

We woke up (or rather THEY woke up) to a bright, sunny morning at a travel plaza on the Ohio Turnpike.  Things continued to flow well.  We did get a call about an hour before we reached our hotel that caused a wrinkle, but we're here.  We're happy (for the most part... the kids seem happy!  But, you can't please everyone, and we all knew the kids were going to be the easy ones!) and safe.

Tomorrow looks like it's going to be 75 and sunny.  SUPER!

Time for Room Checks... hope you're all in there!!
